Terms & Conditions
Please ensure that you read these notes carefully and retain them for your records. And please note that by paying a deposit and booking you agree to terms and conditions listed below.
1. Booking Terms
a) 6-week Studio Classes
You can book your place, subject to availability, with a deposit of €50 to be paid by cheque, cash or online. The deposit is non-refundable.
If you are booking online you will receive a confirmation email from info@avocapaintingschool.com, only then is your place secured. Students cancelling their booking before of course commencement will forfeit their €50 deposit.
The remainder fee is to be paid in full on the day of course commencement.
Students missing classes do so at their own loss. Avoca Painting School reserve the right to cancel any course if there are insufficient numbers to make up a class. In this case students who have already paid will get a full refund. Avoca Painting School reserve the right to postpone classes in the event of adverse weather or other unforeseen circumstances, and these will be held at a later date.
Students can be provided with easels, chairs, and tables where necessary. All other materials such as paint, canvases, paper, drawing boards, brushes and solvents and rags are to be brought along to the class by the student. A list of essential materials is available on request. Alternatively basic materials can be included at a surcharge of €40 for the 6-week course.
b) 5-day Painting Vacations
You can book your place, subject to availability, with a 50% deposit. Bookings are confirmed on receipt of balance payment to be received 28 days prior to painting holiday start date.
The Avoca Painting School must reserve the right to cancel any painting holiday at any time due to unforeseen circumstances and should we need to cancel your course you will of course receive a full refund of your painting holiday fee. Student cancellations can be accepted up to 28 days before painting holiday start date in which case your fee will be refunded less 50% cancellation charge. Student cancellations less than 28 days prior to painting holiday start date cannot be refunded.
We strongly recommend that you take out appropriate travel insurance to cover your painting holiday fee in the event that you cannot make your course. For example weather, illness, family bereavement.
Materials such as paint, canvases, paper, drawing-boards, brushes and solvents and rags are to be brought along to the class by each student. A list of essential materials is available on request. Alternatively basic drawing and painting equipment and materials can be provided for a surcharge of € 15 per day. Students can also hire easels separately at a rate of €5 per day. Please note all of the above need to be booked in advance.
c) 1- and 2-day Workshops
Places can be booked, subject to availability, with payment in full prior to workshop date. Dates booked are non-transferable, student who cancel their booking or are “no-shows” forfeit their fee.
The Avoca Painting School reserve the right to cancel any course at any time due to unforeseen circumstances and should we need to cancel your workshop you will of course receive a full refund.
Materials and equipment such as paint, canvases, paper, drawing-boards, brushes and solvents and rags are to be brought along to the class by the student. A list of essential materials is available on request. Alternatively basic drawing and painting materials equipment can be provided for a surcharge of € 15 per day. d) Vouchers and Gift certificates
If you are in possession of a voucher we ask you to book your place in writing or by e-mail 28 day in advance of workshop date. We can not guarantee a place for you less than 28 days in advance. Further terms and conditions listed in c) 1-day Workshops apply to all vouchers and gift certificates.
e) 25% off Rod Coyne’s paintings at the Avoca Studio Gallery
- 25% off voucher is available with each Avoca Painting School booking from March 2012
- Voucher is valid only for original paintings by Rod Coyne (commissions excluded)
- Voucher is only valid at the Avoca Studio Gallery
- Vouchers can not be combined with any other offers
- Each voucher can only be used once, but may be used to buy more than one painting on that single occasion
2. Disclaimer
The Avoca Painting School cannot be held responsible for losses or expense occasioned thereby or for personal injury, damage or loss of property while on the premises or beyond the premises during field trips. We strongly recommend that you take out adequate insurance coverage for personal injury or loss or damages to property etc.
3. Site User Obligations
By using this Site you agree that:
- You accept financial responsibility for all transactions made under your name or account;
- You must be 18 years of age or over and have legal capacity;
- You warrant that all information you provide about yourself and about anyone else shall be true and accurate;
- This Site must not be used for speculative, false or fraudulent bookings;
